Miracles versus magic

How we manifest the desires of our hearts and minds has been a principal subject of enquiry for millennia. While in the material world the simple Newtonian model can answer obvious questions, subtle and ambiguous situations have led to quantum physics and chaos theory. Attractor fields appear to play a critical role in what we manifest, and the state of our consciousness plays perhaps the major role in not only our ability to manifest but in the content of what we bring into our lives -- and our world.
Often used interchangeably, we can make a useful distinction between miracles and magic. While both are used to explain phenomena that defy our normal perception and logical explanation, they actually point to two very different sources. Miracles come from the heart, while magic comes from the mind.
Magic is mental manipulation of material. It uses the mind to force things into unexpected changes. Miracles are the creative manifestation of the heart's desires. The power of the heart attracts things into a new state of being. While the difference may sound subtle, it is profound.
A simple example of magic is using the mind to force someone to do something. If one looks at another person whose back is turned away with the strong intent to force them to turn around, they are very likely to turn around, although they will probably not know why. Magicians' tricks are classic examples, too. Trick is, of course, the operative word.
After a recent Heart Power seminar in Los Angeles a woman reported a miracle that illustrates the contrast. While she was receiving the transmission of enlightenment energy, she was encouraged to visualize her heart's desires as if they were fulfilled. She had a fifteen year old son who was a sociopath - a veritable monster to live with. She visualized him healed, whole and happy. After the weekend she reported that he had, literally overnight, done a 180 degree change. A month later she reported the change had been sustained and that their family was experiencing gratifying times together for the first time since his childhood. She wrote that, after a laughter- and love-filled family dinner, his eighteen year old sister burst out, "Who are you, anyway? And where have you been for the last fifteen years?"
Magic is mental manipulation. It often depends upon very specific algorithms and follows a clear, logical path. Miracles too are events which transcend visible linear cause and effect that also may be in response to intent, but from the heart, rather than the mind.
The transmission of enlightenment energy provides a key to unlock the mind's hold over the heart, enabling the heart to open and flower. When we finally transcend the mind and live from the depths of our hearts, we use the mind as it was designed to be used, rather than the mind using us. Then, living from the depths of our hearts, we experience miracles flowing naturally and automatically.
